There are those that I meet at a bar or a club. The kind I’m attracted to for those few moments and it’s likely that I’ll meet them again the next night out. But I ultimately know that there is nothing beyond the fun times we spent on the dance floor. Every now and then you’ll run through my mind, and I can’t seem to get rid of your words, even if I can only remember 5 of them. But like I said, we have no connection outside of those nights, because for that time being, all I’m really looking for is someone to make me move.

Then there are those I meet in some random place, at some random time…the kind that you least expect. There is something in their words, and the vibe they give that pull me in. The one’s I’d be willing to invest some time in because there’s more substance, more opportunity, more of a connection…than the kind I would meet at a bar. The type that make you want to know more, so you try and look them up on-line to see what they’re all about. What are their likes, their dislikes, where did they come from, and where are they going next? Whenever I’ve come across this type, I want to hop in the car with them and ride with no destination. We can turn off the distraction of the radio and I’ll find myself bouncing my ideas and opinions off their words because they’ve sparked something in me that needs to be released.

And other moments I just listen carefully at the message they’re trying to convey as they inspire, share, and reflect.

Sometimes, I’ve even come across those who I just want to lay in bed with, wrap myself in the sound of their voice, and pretend that nothing else in the world matters.

This folks, is the difference between music I’ll dance to in a bar….and the music I could fall in love with.
